AUCTION TOPPER FOR 68.000 EURO

Sep 8, 2019

During the 18th edition of the Horseman Elite Auction, the public was once again able to taste the top collection, consisting of 48 lots composed by Kurt Heremans, Pieter Goyvaerts, Kurt van de Voorde, Geert Helsen and Sven Bols.

The foals were sold on average at 13,500 euros, with Tene Quod Bene becoming the absolute top seller with 29,000 euros. This son of Diamant de Semilly comes out of the same dam line as Malito de Reve and will soon be staying under the Spanish sun.

The second money was paid for Toulouse van de Middelstede. A daughter of the young stallion Pegase van ‘t Ruytershof, combined with the full sister of Jos Verlooy's Domino. This filly sold for 26,000 euros.

For 21,000 euros, Tinkas Chaccoblue van Essene changed owners. This son of Chacco Blue is a grandson of Ecassina van Essene, who jumped at 1m35 level.

The absolute top seller was without a doubt the eleven-year-old BWP-bred Heartbreaker daughter Indra van den Bisschop. She was sold with two embryos; one from Urano de Cartigny and one from Opium JW van de Moerhoeve while Indra is also the full sister of Dulf and Holland van den Bisschop. It is therefore not surprising that an Irish buyer was happy to pay 68,000 euros for this lottery ticket. Even more if you know that Indra's seven-year-old son Macho vd Bisschop is already jumping at international YH level!

For 30,000 euros, the twelve-year-old Zafrina VA (Quintero x Caretino), in foal to Emerald van ‘t Ruytershof, was sold. On average, the breeding mares were sold for 21,500 euros!

The most expensive embryo was the For Pleasure descendant out of the full sister of Emerald van ‘t Ruytershof. The embryo was awarded to English buyers for 28,000 euros. In addition, three other embryos were auctioned, which together accounted for an average price of 24,500 euros.

Both online and live there was a lot of interest from abroad and top riders were also able to enjoy this collection: Niels Bruynseels, Darragh Kenny, Axel Verlooy, Andrea Benatti and a few other top riders knew their way around!

In total, 4 lots were not sold, bringing the total turnover to just over 800,000 euros.
